#Create a template

Checklist templates live in Settings > Checklists > Templates. A template can have sections (for example “Outdoor unit” and “Indoor unit”) and up to 200 items. The Starter plan allows 10 templates; Pro and Business allow unlimited templates.

  1. Go to Settings > Checklists > Templates and click New template.
  2. Name it after the work, for example AC tune-up (residential).
  3. Add sections, then add items to each section.
  4. Pick an item type for each item and mark the ones that must be done as Required.
  5. Click Save, then link the template to a job type in Settings > Jobs > Job types.

#Item types

  • Checkbox: done or not done.
  • Yes / No / N/A: for inspections.
  • Reading: a number with a unit and an allowed range, for example refrigerant pressure in PSI. Readings outside the range are flagged in red on the report.
  • Text: a short note.
  • Photo: one or more photos, up to 20 per item.
  • Signature: customer or technician signature.

#Editing a template in use

Changes to a template apply to jobs created after you save. Jobs that already exist keep the version they were created with, so a completed report never changes. To update open jobs too, click Apply to open jobs after saving.
