#What to set up first

Most crews are scheduling real work within one afternoon. The order below matters: customers and team members need to exist before you can assign a job, and Stripe needs to be connected before invoices can be paid online.

You can do every step during the 14-day free trial. Nothing you set up is lost when the trial ends and you pick a plan.

  1. Add your company name, address, logo and time zone in Settings > Company > Profile.
  2. Import your customers and job sites from a CSV file in Settings > Data > Import.
  3. Invite office staff and technicians from Settings > Team > Users > Invite.
  4. Create your first checklist template in Settings > Checklists > Templates.
  5. Connect Stripe in Settings > Payments > Connect Stripe so customers can pay online.
  6. Schedule a test job from Schedule > New job and assign it to yourself to see the technician view.

#Run a test job end to end

Assign the test job to yourself and open it in the technician app. Tap through the checklist, add a photo, collect a signature and complete the job. You will see the photo report that customers receive and the invoice draft that Fieldnote creates. Delete the test job afterwards from Job > More > Delete so it does not show up in your reports.
