Add or remove seats

#How seats are counted

A seat is an active user with any role except Read-only. Deactivated users do not count. See your seat count in Settings > Billing > Seats.

#Adding and removing seats

• Adding a user adds a seat right away. You are charged the prorated amount for the rest of the billing period.
• Removing a user (deactivate them in Settings > Team > Users) lowers your seat count at the next renewal. There are no refunds for unused time.
• A deactivated user's jobs, photos and timesheets stay in Fieldnote. You can reactivate them later.

On annual billing, added seats are prorated to the end of the year, and seats can only be lowered at the yearly renewal.
