#Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication works on every plan with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Each user can turn it on in Profile > Security. Admins can require it for everyone in Settings > Security > Require two-factor. Users then set it up the next time they sign in. Text message codes are not offered, because they are less secure.

#Single sign-on

Single sign-on is on the Business plan and works with Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID. Set it up in Settings > Security > Single sign-on. When SSO is required, users sign in only through your provider, and removing someone there blocks their Fieldnote access at their next sign-in. The Owner can always sign in with email and password as a backup.

#Audit log

On the Business plan, Settings > Security > Audit log records sign-ins, setting changes, exports, refunds and user changes for 12 months. It can be exported as CSV.
