#Create a job
A job is one visit to one job site. It holds the customer, the address, the work to do, the checklist and, later, the photo report and the invoice.
- Click Schedule > New job, or right-click an empty slot on the dispatch board.
- Pick the customer and the job site. Start typing a name to search.
- Choose a job type, for example AC tune-up or Water heater install. The job type sets the default checklist and duration.
- Set the date and an arrival window, for example 8:00 to 10:00.
- Assign one or more technicians, or leave it unassigned for the dispatcher.
- Click Save. The customer gets a booking confirmation if customer messages are on.
#Job statuses
A job moves through these statuses: Scheduled, Dispatched (sent to the technician's app), On the way, In progress, Completed and Invoiced. Technicians change most statuses from the app. The office can change any status from the job page, and every change is recorded in the job's activity log.
#Job types
Job types live in Settings > Jobs > Job types. Each one has a name, a color on the dispatch board, a default duration, a default checklist template and optional default line items for the invoice. Good job types save the most clicks of anything you set up.
